The Department of Diagnostic Imaging has a long tradition of providing leading edge diagnostic imaging and interventional services for our patients, while training the nezt generation of radiologists, and performing research in medical imaging.
The diagnostic imaging department provides a wide range of diagnostic examinations, with a variety of imaging modalities. These examinations include plain radiography (X-rays), ultrasound, fluoroscopy (X-ray screening), USG, computed tomography (CT scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI scan), nuclear medicine, angiography, mammography and obstetric scanning.
Diagnostic Imaging (Scans and X-rays)
The diagnostic imaging department (also known as radiology and X-ray), is one of the largest departments in Opatów Hospital.
Computed Tomography (CT scan)
A CT scan makes use of computer-processed combinations of many X-ray images taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional (tomographic) images (virtual "slices") of specific areas of a scanned object, allowing the user to see inside. Object without cutting Other terms include computed axial tomography (CAT) and computer aided tomography.
Medical ultrasound (also known as diagnostic sonography or ultrasonography) is a diagnostic imaging technique based on the application of ultrasound. It is used to see internal body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, vessels and internal organs. It's aim is often to find a source of a disease or to exclude any pathology. The practice of examining pregnant women using ultrasound is called obstetric ultrasound, and is widely used.
Endoscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, consisting of a precise examination of the interior of the gastrointestinal tract. Tests are performed under local or general anesthesia with an anesthesiologist. Endoscopy is divided into the upper gastrointestinal tract and lower intestinal tract (colonoscopy)

a wide range of diagnostic tests performed within hematology, clinical biochemistry, serology, coagulation, immunology, general analysis.
It cooperates with external laboratories offering tests within microbiology.
The laboratory is fully computerised and equipped with modern diagnostic equipment.
